Two New Organizations Join SDC

The Syrian Democratic Coalition has just sent us this news item:

The Syrian Democratic National Gathering (SDNG), a political organization that was formed in 1986 in Syria and that is led by Marwan Hammoud and the Solidarity Council, a Kurdish organization with its leadership inside Syria, have both joined the Syrian Democratic Coalition.

Hammoud, who participated in the National Salvation Front, left them late last month because of undemocratic behavior. His departure was captured by the main Arab media because he was the first to highlight the inner workings of NSF publicly.

The announcement came from both groups while the seven parties, representing the Syrian Democratic Coalition, were meeting in Berlin to discuss the upcoming SDC conference that will be held in the Fall of 2006 in Washington DC. Other political organizations participated in the event (Five other organizations) and have decided to participate in the two committees that were formed for the purpose of drafting SDC's political and economic project to be unveiled in Washington DC as well as the Committee to plan and organize the conference of Washington.
