MAIN CASUALTY REPORT

This report is the latest in our series on Syria. Today’s report deals with casualties for the week ending 22 October 2012 and is in two parts:
 1)       NCF Casualty estimates and
 2)       All other Casualty estimates. The second half of this latter report is so extensive that we have only included the summary here under the title “Casualties in more detail”. The full background by region of Syria can be accessed on the NCF Syria blog on the following link: FULL CASUALTY FIGURES.
Casualties – The NCF casualty estimates
In an attempt to produce more a more accurate set of figures we have decided to focus on those published by the Violations Documenting Centre (VDC) as this source consistently publishes reports of identified casualties (including names of victims), with only a handful unidentified.
