The irony that the blog called the “The Girl in Damascus” gained a worldwide following, and was reported on by news organisations shows that you cant always believe what you read. Whilst blogs have been a key source of emanating information during the Arab Spring, in this particular instance the author of this blog was in fact Tom MacMaster, an American man studying in Scotland.
