THE BUSH administration could do a great service to Israel by clearly saying that it does not oppose peace negotiations between Israel and its neighbors.
Active support in facilitating such negotiations would, of course, be an even greater service, but a simple statement saying that America does not oppose such peace talks could be the first step for Israel to secure peace on its northern border.
